Letter from the Superintendent
Dear Students,
On behalf of the District 206 Board of Education and the Administration, we welcome you back to school. The district is pleased to offer you some of the most comprehensive course work in the State of Illinois. Although studies show that a later starting time should increase student achievement, it is up to you to take advantage of the opportunity to start at 9:15 a.m. Our office will monitor your daily attendance. Our teachers take it very seriously. I hope you will utilize this chance to improve your work ethics and value the time to improve your grades. District 206 offers a comprehensive educational program. We advise you to set some short and long-term goals so that you can exploit all the opportunities our programs have to offer. We take education very seriously here in District 206. We hope you cherish your future in the same manner we do. Your attitude, your commitment to education, and your dedication to your studies will be a direct indication of how successful you will be in the future. The school is full of support groups (deans, counselors, mentors, social workers, career, and special pop coordinators) to help guide you through the school process in your journey towards graduation. Planning now will help you achieve your goals in a timely manner. Please take advantage of the numerous activities and extracurricular programs offered by the district. We look forward to seeing you in the hallways, at our concerts, and at our sporting events. We extend to you our best wishes for a successful, exciting, and enjoyable school year. Please enjoy your stay, as you should remember it as one of the best experiences of your life. Good luck!
Sincerely,
Glen M. Giannetti
