DISTRICT 206 STUDENTS HEADING TO NATIONAL BPA CONTEST

Eleven Bloom and Bloom Trail High School students have qualified to compete
in the Business Professionals of America national contest in May in Anaheim,
Calif.
The students earned the opportunity to represent Bloom Township High School
District 206 in the national competition May 5-9 based on their performances
in the recent Illinois State Leadership BPA contest in Oak Brook. More than
650 students from 41 Illinois high schools participated in the BPA state
competition.
Bloom students qualifying for the national event are Matt Defries, who had a
first place in digital media production at the state BPA contest; Ashely
Boron, second place in keyboarding; Shaneek Seals, third place in digital
media production, and Amiracle Gray, fourth place in fundamental word
processing.
Bloom Trail students advancing to the BPA national competition are Robert
Brand, first place in computer security concepts and third place in computer
network technology at the state contest; Jeremy Carson, first place in
network design team; Michael Flood, first place in network design team and
third place in computer security concepts; Humberto Herrera, first place in
network design team and sixth place in computer network technology; Dominic
Marocco, first place in network design team and fourth place in computer
security concepts; Nick Rosen; fourth place in computer network technology,
and Anthony Bartolami, fifth place in computer network technology.
